Our pathology services related to the gastrointestinal tract include surgical pathology and cytology. Both use our compendium of reagents and antibodies to identify and rule out the nature of discovered malignancy or disease.
Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining is used for Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) detection, due to higher sensitivity and specificity than Silver or Giemsa counterstains used at other laboratories.
CMV and HSV immunostains can also be used to test for viral infections in immunocompromised patients.
Our hematopathology service supplements IHC staining when GI lymphomas are present.
